Santa comes early for Ladywell !

The beautiful Club of the Year Trophy
Christmas came a bit early this year for our Club!
At the Lewisham Sport Awards, hosted by the Mayor Sir Steve Bullock, we were awarded the coveted Sports Club of the Year for 2009. As always, competition for this particular award was very stiff and we are obviously delighted that our efforts on behalf of the children of Lewisham and beyond have been recognised in this way.

Another very rewarding aspect of the evening was the number of ex-ladywell  'gymnasts' who received awards on the night - for achievement in other sports; thus proving our long held belief that gymnastics as a sport provides an ideal platform for children who wish to pursue other sports when their gymnastics career is finished.
The awards were presented on the night to a capacity audience by double Olympic Gold Medal winning rower James Cracknell, who gave an inspirational introductory speech.
As well as the Club of the Year Trophy, the following awards were also collected by Club Coaches' and gymnasts':-
Shirley Callaghan - Runner Up in the Coach of the Year category.
