Recreational Gymnastics
[ Ages 5 to 15 Years ]

Recreational Gymnastics

Recreational Gymnastics within the Club Programme is an introduction to basic gymnastics skills for children. It enhances, improves and develops balance, coordination, motor skills and social and educational skills. All the various pieces of equipment used in the gym are explored and basic gymnastic skills are taught.

All children work towards British Gymnastics recognised Badges and Certificates of Achievement.
At this level an element of competition exists and children can be invited to compete in the Club Annual Championships. This is not compulsory and children are free to continue to enjoy the activities offered purely as fun.
Although all children are treated and progress as individuals, some children inevitably display the correct physical composition, aptitude and commitment to be invited to join one of the Competitive Teams/Squads based within the Club. This, however, involves considerably more training and an increased level of commitment from both child and parent or guardian, and should not be entered into without careful consideration of all the elements and extra commitment involved.

Suitable clothing for this activity is mandatory (leotard or t-shirt & shorts with no buttons or zips).
Hair must be tied back with no hard bobbles, beads or clips.
Strictly no jewellery or any form of body piercing please.

NB. If you assume Club Membership – full Club Uniform (see Club Shop) must be purchased from the Club and worn before commencing a second course.
Failure to do so will result in exclusion from sessions until suitably attired.

Sessions must be booked in advance.
Course Fees are dependent on the number of weeks in the course.
The current Fee Rates are available on the Calendar & Fees Page.
